Which Varieties of Tomato are the Best for Growing Big Tomatoes?
There are a great number of different varieties of tomato but generally when looking for those that produce large fruit we need look no further than beefsteak and heirloom varieties.
Some of the varieties you need to look out for are called ‘Big Boy‘, ‘Supersonic‘ and ‘Big Beef‘ all of which are Beefsteak varities of tomatoes. These are some of the biggest of the Heirloom variety of tomato: Dixie Golden Giant Heirloom Tomato, Ultimate Giant Heirloom Tomato,which can grow up to 9 inches in diameter, Giant Oxheart Heirloom Tomato and Dinner Plate Heirloom Tomato.

Big Zac – This tomato is a hybrid heirloom and can grow up to 7 pounds in weight although they reach around 4 pounds more frequently!
Cuostralee – Large and hearty, prolific plant, with huge red beautiful beefsteak tomatoes, up to 4 lbs. Extremely easy to grow, disease resistant and a reliable.
Omar’s Lebanese – The deep dark pink and juicy fruits of the Omar’s grow to 3-4 lbs and are very good at resisting disease.
